A Community All Too Often Overlooked

Black mothers should not be statistics

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Black Mothers in the U.S. are dying at 3 to 4 times the rate of White Mothers.
Black Americans are 20% more likely to report serious psychological distress than White Americans, but are less likely to use mental health services.
In 2018, 11.5% of Black adults in the U.S. had NO form of health insurance.
Increasing rates of mental health issues and lack of qualified therapists (shortage of 250k clinicians by 2025 – U.S. Department of Health andHuman Services) negatively impacts Black Americans.
